Decision on Patent Dispute

In spring 2015, Hexatronic was sued by Emtelle Ltd. regarding an alleged infringement of a Swedish patent relating to what is known as air blown fiber. Hexatronic contested the suit and issued a counter-suit claiming that the Emtelle patent should be declared invalid.

Oral proceedings in the Swedish Patent and Market Court were held in early September 2017. The Court has today made a decision on the dispute in favor of Hexatronic. The Court revoked the Patent and dismissed Emtelle’s patent infringement claim. The judgement can be ordered free of charge from the Patent and Market Court.

Emtelle is now obliged to compensate Hexatronic for legal costs amounting to approximately MSEK 5.1.

“We are delighted with the Patent and Market Court’s decision, which is in line with our expectations of the case from the beginning,” says Henrik Larsson Lyon, CEO of Hexatronic Group AB.
